About the Journal

Aim and Scope

The International E-Journal of Criminal Sciences (INECS) is directed toward individuals in a wide range of disciplines who have an interest in the study of crime. The journal publishes internationally contribute empirical studies, reviews of research, replication reports, and  book review section.

Contributions on theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects of crime, marginality and social relationships are included, along with innovative and/or interdisciplinary approaches with a criminological emphasis.

This is a multilingual journal: manuscripts in English, French, Basque and Spanish are welcomed.

Peer Review Process

Articles submitted directly to the International E-Journal of Criminal Sciences (INECS) will be fully peer-reviewed by appropriately qualified experts in the field selected by the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the Editorial Board will then decide whether to accept, reject or request revisions based on the reviews and comments received.

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Our peer-review process is also confidential, and the identities of reviewers cannot be revealed.

Manuscripts with contents outside the scope will not be considered for review. Simultaneous submissions of the same manuscript to different journals will not be tolerated.

Publication Frequency

The International E-Journal of Criminal Sciences (INECS) publishes one issue every year.

New contributions are added to the current issue as soon as the final approved version is received.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. The International E-Journal of Criminal Sciences is a free Open Access journal at no cost to authors or readers.

All articles in the International E-Journal of Criminal Sciences (INECS) are published under a CC-BY license.

International E-Journal of Criminal Sciences subscribes to Ethical Standards of the American Psychological Association and the legal framework of the country where the research was developed.
