Abstract

This study explores the ideas on religious matter of peruvian liberalism during the independence years and the beginning of the republic. It's particularly concerned on understanding, from the approach of other thinkers,how wascatholic religionconceived inside of the new republican order, the role of the Church and itsrelationship with the State. It state that, in front of these issues, liberalism presented marked differences in postures.
