The aim of this paper is to examine the transmission and interpretation of Aristotle's Rhetoric in the Middle Ages. The first sections are devoted to the explanation of the main features of the rhetorical art in the late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages as well as to underlining the influence of the Arabic Scholar tradition and the first translations of Aristotle's works throughout the IX-XII centuries. In the following sections, we enumerate and discuss the most important latin translations and commentaries of Aristotle's Rhetoric. Finally, we draw out some brief conclusions about the considerations of Rhetoric as a book on moral philosophy
