Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • All contributors who meet the authorship criteria have been included.
  • If your study involves animal experiments, you have necessary ethical approvals and a statement in the text has been included.

Author Guidelines

We want the manuscript submission process to be simple. No special formatting of the manuscript or its references is required to be evaluated. We prefer a single PDF with all the content to facilitate the process, but you can submit it as you wish. Please, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have at ijdb@ehu.eus

Article types

Each accepted manuscript is assigned a content type (original article, review, short communication, expression pattern, etc.) to help readers understand what to expect and to facilitate indexing. While editors make the final decision on content type assignment, authors are encouraged to include their preference in the cover letter or in the comments to the editor.

Starting from Volume 68 (2024), IJDB is a fully Open Access journal. The journal complies with the Open Access requirements of funders, including Plan S from cOAlition S requirements. You can find more information about Open Access and funder's compliance in the journal's information and policies.
