Abstract
Sexual harassment of minors through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has emerged as an alarming issue in contemporary society. This phenomenon has been of increasing concern due to its prevalence and the devastating impact it has on victims and society at large. In Spain, there has been a steady increase in crime statistics related to sexual harassment of minors through ICT in recent years.
This study focuses on comparing the criminal history and recidivism of offenders involved in offenses of sexual harassment of minors through ICT. For this purpose, three groups of detainees were identified according to the intentionality of the offender: those seeking physical contact with the minor, those seeking to obtain sexual material, and dual cases combining both intentions.
