Resumen

El establecimiento de una transmisión del poder de padre a hijo marcó un antes y un después en el régimen comunista de Pyongyang y es un caso único en la historia de los sistemas políticos marxistas. Esta sucesión hereditaria dentro de una misma familia tiene su origen en el complejo desarrollo político de la Corea del Norte comunista y, en especial, la instauración de una estructura de poder asociada a la figura de Kim Il Sung. La ausencia de un partido comunista fuerte ante el poder absoluto del líder supremo, el despotismo de un grupo reducido de dirigentes y unos antecedentes internacionales poco propicios favorecieron la designación de Kim Jong Il como sucesor de su padre.
