Abstract

The dilemma posed between the urgencies of development, competition and business profitability, on the one hand; and the need to avoid gaps in justice, guarantee the social protection of workers, as well as respect human rights, impacts the world of cooperativism, whose historical identity has been based on solidarity, and demands the attention of Labor Law in the face of the possible loss of the social essence of the cooperative model. In the Cuban case, the challenges are enormous: from the need to develop the infrastructures that support the digital transformation for all types of enterprises, including cooperatives; through a rethinking of the existing cooperative model itself, to the establishment of courses of action in both public and private management of the cooperative sector. Hence, this paper aims to analyze the challenges and prospects of labor digitalization in the Cuban cooperative sector.
