Abstract
The praxis adopted by counter-power unionism is generating new debates around union renewal and how unions can be more effective. In this article we explore how these strategic approaches interact and enrich each other in the face of the eco-social crisis, as well as the opportunities that arise to promote union renewal through commitment to the ecological struggle. By identifying the positions of three Basque unions - ELA, LAB and ESK -, we find important points of convergence between them and with other social movements, which helps us to glimpse crucial experiences for the development of environmental policies and strategic alliances between the various social actors.
