Las relaciones intergeneracionales en el marco de la familia contemporánea: cambios y continuidades en transición hacia una nueva concepción de la familia

Abstract

Not anymore the nuclear family is the symbolic model through which the family is thought and social relations inside it have also changed, but the family is still very important in the provision of support —emotional, social, financial— to its members. However, the changes in the family have also had an impact not only in the conditions in which family provides this support, but on the ideological elements that define the organisation and development of it. The changes in the values, attitudes and behaviours of each generation in front of a situation of dependency of the elderly is an important aim of study in a context of a very familist model of welfare state.
