Abstract

We live a period of decay and criticims about ways of designing and building are more and more intense. It is not the first time that this happens. At the beginning of xix century, the appearance of new materials such as iron produced such a seismic shift that all building understanding changed. It was not an innovation, but a revolution.

As always, it will be the use of new materials, carbon fiber, fiberglass, composite materials that will introduce relevant innovations to get out of this confusion. Intelligent structures will complete this transformation.
