Abstract
Inspired by the analogy that Walter Benjamin made between the Angelus Novus by Paul Klee and the angel of History, the objective of this article is to identify possible proposals on how to achieve a needed paradigm change in our relationship with the planet. In order to see how art contributes to sustainability, we are going to focus our analysis on some experiences of art creation of all kinds (literature, music, installation and performance) in which scales relating time, space and matter suggest forms of change towards this concept.
Firstly, we will start by identifying and analysing some artworks in general; secondly, we will explore concepts of time, space and a few examples of technologies that can change the present paradigm and finally we will analyse the subject from the point of view of two artworks developed by the research group, Systemic Performance and Dissolute Pagus.
