Abstract

This article concentrates on the history of the women's movement in contemporary Spain. A movement characterised by its plurality and interwoven experiences of gender and class. Five areas of study are analysed: the constitutionality of political citizens from the crisis at the end of the 1900s and during the first three decades of the 20th Century, the development of women's trade unionism and its reaching a peak durign the Second Republic and the Civil War. The article also deals with the Franquist period, the consolidation of the women's movement from 1975 to 1979 and finally, the development of feminism in democracy.
