Abstract

Unimpeded access to files is a basic condition for historical research and to ensure information and transparency in governance. However, these rights are not always assured. For citizens and historians, full access to the files is pending with regard to some documents from the Spanish Contemporary History issue, which has also frustrated the possibility of meeting the right to truth, justice and repair demanding international humanitarian law for victims of the Civil War and Francoism.
