The Irish Government and the Peace Mediation in the Spanish Civil War. An Impossible Mission?

Abstract
This article surveys the Irish Government reaction to the peace mediation in the Spanish Civil War that was proposed by the International Commission for the Assistance of Child Refugees in Spain in summer 1938. To that end, this article summarises the Irish Government reaction to the Spanish Civil War, describes the demand for financial aid requested by the humanitarian organisation and examines the content and the prospects of implementation of the mediation project.
