Abstract
The article analyzes the historical and political context in which the events leading to the current debate on the economic and moral compensation to the victims of the Spanish Civil War and the Francoist regime unfolded. Likewise, it examines and evaluates the content of the law passed by the Spanish Parliament in December 2007, the measures taken previously and the aw's subsequent development.
