Abstract

History of Spanish foreign policy between 1895 and 1907 in the framework of the process of colonial redistribution which accompanies the change of the European international system and finish in the formation of the Entente. Beginning with the weaknesses of Spain's foreign policy during the Restoration, the paper studies the efforts to defend Spanish sovereignty in Cuba, the international crisis of 1898, the search for an international guarantee for the defeated metropolis, Spanish participation in the scramble for Morocco and the Mediterranean Agreements of 1907.
