Abstract

This article presents several aspects of Hispanic liberalism that the author considers should be debated. More specifically, it analyzes four aspects of the relationship between what he calls «primer liberalismo español» (1808-1814) and the emancipation processes of Spanish America. This is a text of historiographic nature that puts on the table some topics of political history and intellectual history that increase their importance due to the variegated bicentennial academic celebrations that are taking place.
