El Ateneo de Madrid: plataforma ideológica del franquismo (1939-1963)

Abstract

This article aims to study the group of thinkers and politicians who made an important activity in an old institution as the Ateneo of Madrid in order to create an ideological coverage that permitted Franco's regime to appear with a non-dictatorial image in the international context. Their strategy consisted in inviting foreign lecturers, organising courses and publishing books about Spain and the European culture.
