Abstract
The repression against the CNT has been used in our most recent historical documentation as one of the keys to explain the practical disappearance of the anarchist union organization during Franco's dictatorship. Due to the repetitive retelling of CNT national committees dismantlements by the police, this event has been converted into common knowledge. Furthermore this matter has not been investigated in-depth. Therefore, this report tries to analyze, not only the number of regional and national committes victimized by repression during the first ten years of the dictatorship, but the circumstances which influenced the CNT repression, such as the tactics employed by the organization itself, the anarchist union structure or the behaviour of the leaders. Moreover, we are going to present, based on the dictatorship's own sources, a comparative analysis of the detentions of militants of different anti-Franco organizations, between 1946 and 1949.
