«Le Mouvement Social» and the Spanish historiography

Abstract
The Institut Français d'Histoire Sociale was founded in 1949 and, in 1951, began to publish its bulletin L'Actualité de l'Histoire. The Institute's work and content of its bulletin focussed on the study of the history of the labour movement and the conservation of its archives. In 1960, Le Mouvement Social arose from the above publication. During the last forty years, the work of Le Mouvement Social has evolved from the study of the history of the labour movement, to the analysis of social history open to new subject matter. It has also broadened its period of study to include the second half of the 20 th century. Principally concentrating on the study of the history of France, this journal has also dealt with other historiographies, mainly German, British, North American and Italian. In this article we intend to analyse how Le Mouvement Social and Spanish history and its historiography are related.
