Abstract
This article analyses the subject of the search of the identity into the film The Namesake (2006) of the Indian directress Mira Nair. This film is centred on the figure of a young man of Bengali origin that is debating between his Indian roots and his native country, the United States. This person longs to find himself and his real place in the world. Also this movie approaches subjects like love, loyalty, family and uprooting.
