Abstract

This article discusses the historical and artistic study of the case of the Baroque organ of the parish church of San Michael of Larraga (Navarra). Wooden structure executed by the sculptor Miguel Zufía between 1775 and 1776 and polychromed by the painter Juan José del Rey in 1803, to house the musical instrument executed by the organ builder Diego Gómez. It is one of the most outstanding examples of organs in Navarre. The research in different archives has enabled to find unpublished documents of the XVIII century organ, as well as those news related to the reform of the instrument in 1878 by José Puyó Saturnino Inchaurbe.
