Abstract

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus strongly rooted within the Society of Jesus, to the point of becoming the Jesuits the greatest difusers of this cult. In the same way, they also promoted their fervour to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, derived from the previous. In ancient colleges that Ignatian order built in the Basque Country and Navarre have survived six images of the Holy Viscera of Christ and three of Mary, which iconographic models are two theological treatses writen by Jesuit authors.
