Abstract

The article narrates the construction process of what is known as the Monument to the Centenary of Donostia-San Sebastián. It analyses the different projects submitted to the public competition and the construction process of the winner. Erected very quickly, it was highly criticised from the start and this led to its dismantling in 1924. The resulting pieces were distributed throughout different areas and spaces in the capital of Gipuzkoa.
