Abstract
An important subject still not sufficiently explored by art historians of the Basque Country is that of private collections which have been gathered in many houses and palaces of the land throughout the centuries. Since many of them have been dis- appearing and their collections dispersed here and there, it is now urgent to research this relevant art treasure. An inventory of paintings still present a decade ago in the palace of the Marqués de la Alameda in Vitoria, today property of the Silva Verástegui family, is published in this paper.
