Abstract
A wooden Crucifix is ascribed here to Gabriel Joly, a French sculptor working in Aragón (1515-1538). The attribution is based on both quali- tative and stylistic criteria. It comes from Alagón (Zaragoza), where Joly made an altarpiece in 1528, now lost, for the chapel of St. John the Baptist.
