Abstract

This article reviews the designs made by Diego Martínez de Arce in 1752 for the main and lateral altarpieces of the church of San Nicholas in Bilbao. The author emphasizes the differences between the original designs and the final work. He also provides us with some interesting data related to the construction process and the designer himself, Diego Martínez de Arce.
