Reforma ilustrada y proyecto liberal: la enseñanza del derecho en la Monarquía Hispánica

Abstract

Faced with a linear perspective on teaching law in the 16th-19th centuries that was considered as a succession of doctrines (which certainly resulted in the legitimisation of the liberal order), these pages delve into some matters related to Hotman’s work, the administrative monarchy’s form of government, and the rejection of official law raised by the Spanish school of customary law, that allow us to analyse these moments as substantive realities and not mere omens of the present moment.
