Abstract

We examine the Municipal Ordinances approved in 1751 by the town of Elgoibar in Gipuzkoa and ratified by the King a year later, a vivid reflection of a society and a historic moment of great institutional and social change, driven by the new Bourbon dynasty and the enlightened ideas introduced by it.
