La construction politique du territoire en Pays Basque nord : vers un agenda de recherche

Abstract

This paper will deal with contemporary regional dynamics in the French Basque Country and two complementary points of view will be discussed. The first point shall be the institutionalization of the region which has manifested from the early 90’s through a unique process based on the representation and mediation between civil society actors, elected officials and administration representatives. The second focuses on some of the mobilizations originating in the civil society (especially in the agricultural sector); mobilizations pursuing sectorial and regional interests.
