Abstract
The authors take a critical approach to the concept of social capital, highlighting its potential for exclusion from a gender point of view, and point out the risks involved in applying it uncritically in designing social and inclusion policy. They also warn of the risks of returning the sources of social inclusion to the community and the home in the current context of economic crisis, and stress the importance of conceiving a paradigm shift in the relations between the authorities, social action networks and the family network.
