Abstract
This work focuses on the analysis of some of the more common perspectives at the time of the study of the risks that threaten current societies and attempts to compare them with risk factors that are traditionally considered in risk-country studies. This concept, that has reached a certain predicament and influence during recent years, especially in emerging countries, presents a series of limitations that are studied here in light of the problems associated with globalisation (the global risk perspective) and the focus on people (the human security perspective).
