Abstract

As this article aims to establish, the essential importance of the awareness and involvement of the legal agents in the guaranteeing the fundamental right to equality and the banning of gender discrimination is obvious. The effectiveness of the Equal Opportunity Act (LOIEMH) depends on it and on the level of policy willingness and training of the professionals of the interpretation and application of the standards. The LOIEMH and constitution jurisprudence establish for these professionals the moral and legal obligation to apply the gender mainstreaming principle, a key strategic instrument to achieve effective equality between men and women that is the essential objective of the LOIEMH.
