Abstract
This article checks the concept of democracy in order to renew and update it, as it is included in the leftist ideology and, according to the author, it is nowadays considered a possible strategy, an operative concept linked to full citizenship with a minimalist sign. In this sense, economic democracy is presented as an strategy for re-launching not only the rights of the citizens as against capital rights, but, more specifically, the rights of big multinational companies and their global economic interests. Economic democracy aims at extending constitutional and civil rights to the fields of companies and production in general, which implies participating in every phase of business management. But, apart from that, economic democracy is the shortest way towards social and environmental redeployment, which is urged by every single country and, especially, by western societies.
