Abstract
Retirement constitutes the most important provision within the social security system in Spain. The current bill for updating, adapting and modernizing the social security system, which was passed in March, plans to reform this provision. A descriptive analysis of this reform proposal is provided throughout this article. To this end and following contextualization of the reforms, a look back is taken at the main aspects that will be subject to modernization in the case of ordinary retirement, concluding with some final comments.
