Abstract

The purpose of this article is to try and establish and empirically analyse the socio-demographic, business and environmental variables that play a role in the gestation of the entrepreneur.

We are of the opinion that a sociological approach to this phenomenon would be interesting while at the same time a necessity. We maintain that it is essential to add the variables attached to the social milieu of the company to the personal characteristics that have traditionally explained business initiative on the part of individuals. All these make up the scenario in which entrepreneurial activity takes place and, if none of them are studied, we will only obtain a partial and incomplete explanation.
