Abstract

This article gives a brief outline of what we might call the different way of organising a society. It reflects on just what a «good» society might be. Economic and ethical aspects must clearly be mentioned in a discussion of this nature. We present four modern forms of social economic ethics: utilitarianism, libertarianism, analytical Marxism and liberal egalitarianism. The guiding idea is that «a good society is a just society». However, the resulting institutional models are very different.
