Abstract
In today's society the discourse that holds that firms can and should carry on their businesses in accordance with criteria of ethics and social responsibility seems to be unanimously held. However, this consensus is at the very least suspicious and unrealistic, and gives food for thought. An in-depth look at the scope and significance of ethics in business begins to reveal differences, which can soon deepen to the point of conflict.
