Abstract
In this article an analysis is carried out of the evolution of the current migratory streams towards the States which form the EU, pointing out their main features as regards the countries of origin and destination, their temporary nature, the division by sexes and economic sectors of the streams and examining the effects that they are having on the respective work markets (job offers, remuneration, employment). It does not aim to be an exhaustive country by country analysis; instead, it aims to present a current panorama of the issue within the European ambit, pointing out the different situations which exist in each country, so that it acts as a general framework in which more detailed analyses of specific countries or regions can be situated.
