Abstract
Studies dealing with grants have traditionally been associated with their legal nature. The ultimate objective is generally to demand they be seen as a service which deserves being included in the scope of Labour Law. This article, however, has a different aim. Although it does touch briefly on this aspect, its direct focus is on the possibility of considering grants as an appropriate way of introducing young people in the job market. This will be done mainly by comparing the two elements which, much the same as grants, are characterized by the predominance of the training element: forms of training contracts (genuinely labour oriented in nature) and vocational training, and by means of using a specific study which explains in detail the experience in a specific group of grant holders.
