1. Permitted Use

The ethical and transparent use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance the language and readability of manuscripts is allowed by the academic journals of the Editorial Service of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

2. Disclosure of AI Use

If AI tools are used during manuscript preparation, authors must clearly disclose this. The name and version of the software, along with a brief explanation of how it was used, should be included. This information should appear in the Methods section or in the Declarations section of the manuscript.

3. Author Responsibility

Authors remain fully responsible for all content in their manuscripts, including any parts generated or modified with the help of AI tools.

4. AI Use Prohibited in Peer Review

Reviewers are not permitted to use AI tools when evaluating manuscripts. Uploading manuscripts to AI platforms may breach confidentiality and is strictly prohibited.
