About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Established in 1952 by Miguel Sánchez-Mazas, THEORIA. An International Journal for Theory, History and Foundations of Science publishes original papers in analytic philosophy (especially in the philosophy of language, mind, logic and mathematics), history and philosophy of science, and social studies of science. Papers in English and Spanish are preferred, but the journal also considers texts in any of the languages of the Iberian Peninsula.
Peer Review Process
THEORIA. An International Journal for Theory, History and Foundations of Science is a peer-reviewed journal. According to its topic, each paper is assigned by the Editors to the competent area editor. This latter will choose two external referees. They will provide a report on a blind version of the paper and, on this basis, the area editor will make the final decision about publication.
Publication Frequency
THEORIA. An International Journal for Theory, History and Foundations of Science is a four-monthly journal (issues in January, May and September).
Open Access Policy
THEORIA. An International Journal for Theory, History and Foundations of Science is a non-profit editorial venture of the CALIJ (Centro de Análisis, Lógica e Informática Jurídica) and the University of the Basque Country. We provide free access to all our issues from 2003 onwards. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.
