Abstract

In this article we will discuss reconstructively and articulately, the way in which the sociologies of Jürgen Habermas and Anthony Giddens conceptualize the impact that above modern life styles are causing current processes of globalization. More precisely, it comes to understanding the formation of global society as a radicalization of modern rationalization process, and, from this perspective, analyze how the operation —now global— of functional systems enable new forms of interaction and presents new challenges to the types of social integration that have reached modern societies.
