Abstract
This text discusses the uses that the Spanish Supreme Court made of the concept "victim" during 2011 and 2012. By studying a wide base of statements, we iden- tify uses that are more relevant in determining legal victim status. Attention is also paid to aspects that can be more innovative and controversial. The study points out the inflation of judicial uses of the term "victim", proposes some explanations and highlights the danger of trivialization of the reference "victim" that can lead this process of inflation.
