Abstract

What we pretend to know about gender-based violence (i.e. that it is a curse and that abusers are sexists) can be jeopardizing analysis, diagnoses and interventions. Furthermore, it "does gender" and takes active part in how and how far we are facing inequality. To analyse substantivations, synecdoques and metonymies in the plots of violence allow us to reconstruct significant relations. Because, what is the meaning of '-based' between gender and violence?
