Abstract

International migration has drawn special attention from scholars in a number of scientific disciplines. In recent decades, historical research has enriched with non-Eurocentric approaches, contributions from labour history and gender perspectives. However, there are still geographical spaces and moments that have not received appropriate attention. This study aims to fill the gaps that still exist on the issue. It deals with a specific episode of short duration and framed in special circumstances: the Spanish emigration to France during the First World War and immediate post-war period from within the movement itself, that is to say, from the personal experience of the emigrants, collected in an exceptional primary source.
