Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze which are the ways so that the Public Administrations can promote the collaborative economy in the local area as a tool to fight against the informal economy and to maintain or create decent jobs. This purpose is proved by the need to maintain alive the local areas that are far away from the big cities, avoiding their depopulation. In this way, our starting point will be the idea that the ICT are essential for local development, although their use can entail risks and give rise to informal economy, as happened with digital platforms. In order to avoid this mi-suse of the ICT, we will use the collaborative economy, analyzing its concept. And, finally, from this concept, we will delve into the public-private collaboration to promote the collaborative economy through self-employment and cooperatives
