Abstract

Corporate social responsibility is a new corporate management strategy that has been brought to Colombia through business schools, business associations and the headquarters of multinational corporations. Large enterprises are developing this paradigm with a parallel objective to acquire new customers, expand into new markets, consolidate and expand business lines, promote outsourcing, create prestige and brand value, avoid state regulation, reduce social resistance and improve conditions to enable them to more efficiently carry out their operations in the country. This article analyses the main CSR initiatives of Spanish multinational corporations in Colombia, demonstrating the interests and implications so that going beyond corporate discussions, the business model may be applied in the context of the Colombian people.
