Abstract
The renowned model of flexisecurity for the labour market is currently being proposed as a "miraculous cure" for the problems of growth and employment in Europe. The model is promoted by offering "the best of all worlds", combining the apparent and divergent needs of companies and workers/the unemployed in a single strategy. Nevertheless, the European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) is very sceptical about the "miracles" associated with flexisecurity. It is worried that the current political rhetoric regarding a balanced approach to flexibility and security will guide the unemployed and more vulnerable people towards the worst jobs, as well as reducing benefits and the access of people to the services. This "flexiploitation" is not a strategy for ethical growth in social terms and is likely to lead only to more poverty and social exclusion.
