Abstract
Trade unions, as organisations representing workers and defending their rights, play an essential role against mobbing. Bearing in mind that it is at work where mobbing occurs, trade unions can take advantage of their nearness to workers as a means for fighting the problem. Mobbing victims have to be ridden of those feelings of loneliness, not being understood, distress, impotence and, above all, isolation; and this is to be done as soon as possible. In the UGT Trade Union we neither want to nor should leave aside the problem of mobbing at work. The starting point is an even more important struggle, i.e., that of making workers' dignity be respected, as this is the foremost and intrinsic value of all human beings.
